Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the things people ask most. Still stuck? We're happy to help.
Is Web Buddy free to try?
Yes. Creating an account, creating sites, and building them out on the free test URL costs nothing. You only pay when you connect a custom domain to take a site live — that's $250 / month per site. See Billing.
Can I create more than one site?
Absolutely. Create as many sites as you like from your dashboard — each has its own address, content, and team. Custom domains are billed per site, so each site you launch on its own domain is its own $250/month subscription.
What's my site's address before I connect a domain?
Every site is instantly reachable at a free test URL, your-slug.webbuddy.radioworkflow.com. It works the moment you create the site — no DNS or hosting setup needed.
If I rename my site's slug, does the test URL change?
Yes. The test URL is derived from your slug, so renaming the slug moves the URL automatically. Any links to the old test address will stop working, so it's best to settle on a slug before you share it widely. (A connected custom domain isn't affected by a slug change.)
Who can see my site before I launch it?
Anyone you share the test URL with can view the site — it's handy for previews and feedback. But test URLs are marked noindex, so search engines won't list them and your work-in-progress won't turn up in results.
How do I get my site indexed by search engines?
Connect your own domain. The test URL stays deliberately hidden from search, so a live site's canonical home is its paid custom domain — once that's connected and set as primary, search engines can index it. See Connect your domain.
Do I need to buy hosting or set up an SSL certificate?
No. Hosting is included, and HTTPS is fully automatic — the moment you verify a custom domain, Web Buddy provisions a managed TLS certificate for it. There are no certificate files to upload.
Can I use my root domain (example.com) and www together?
Yes. Add each as a domain on the site; a single subscription covers all of a site's domains, so the apex and www aren't billed separately. A root domain uses an A or ALIAS record instead of a CNAME — the domains guide walks through it.
What happens to my content if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. If a subscription ends, the site's custom domains pause and it falls back to its free test URL — your articles, settings, team, domain records, and certificates are all kept. Reactivating resumes the same domains with no re-verification.
What's the difference between the console and the site admin?
The console (where you are now) manages the site itself — its address, domains, billing, and team. The site admin is where you write articles and manage content, settings, and users. Use Open site admin on a site's overview to jump straight in — no second password. (App-only templates like Spin Buddy and Air Buddy have no public site, so their overview shows one button — e.g. Open Spin Buddy — that opens the application itself.)
Can I add other people to help run a site?
Yes. Invite teammates as owners or editors from a site's Team page. Their role also determines what they can do inside the site admin. See Your team.
How do I get help?
Use Report an issue in the console, or email us at support@workflowcorp.com. We're glad to help you get your site launched.
